Get Real With Your Prince
"I pour out my
complaints before him and tell him all my trouble. When I am overwhelmed,
you alone know the way I should turn." - Psalms 142:2-3
Even though we have yet to meet our Prince face-to-face, He knows everything about us. Nothing is hidden from Him. He is waiting to have a very authentic and deep relationship with his bride-to-be.
We have a beautiful example in the Psalms of what a real relationship is
like with the Lord. Our beloved King David is called "a man after [God's]
own heart" (1 Samuel 13:14, AMP). There was nothing artificial about
David's relationship with the Lord. If you read any of his Psalms, you will see
that David was extremely honest with his God. He didn't hide his rage, his
fears, his disappointments, his worries, his praise or his love from his
Heavenly Father.
If you have not experienced that same closeness with Him, it may be
because you have never known how to let yourself be entirely honest with Him.
You can and will experience the intimacy you long for if you will take a chance
and trade a mechanical religious relationship for a totally transparent and
real relationship with One who gave His life to save you---the One you will be
spending eternity with.
So don't listen when the enemy of your soul suggests, that you can save
yourself from the pain and problems of this world. When something hurts you or
someone angers you, tell your Savior all about it. You don't have to wait for
your Lord's return to begin to experience intimacy with Him! He is with you now
in spirit, so cry out to Him about whatever is on your heart.
Don't waste another moment walking alone. Your Prince is waiting for you
to speak to Him, so open your heart and let Him love you and bless you with a
peace that surpasses all human understanding.
