To look for something in the wrong place

Too look for something in the wrong place.

One of the saddest things is seeing how young people are looking for love in so many places, because they don’t receive any love at home.  The one sad reality of life is that all parents are not necessarily good parents.  The other reality is that all children deserve good parents.  This is the contradiction of life.  Maybe you are reading this devotion with an incredible thankfulness in your heart because you have parents who are geniunely good to you.  Parents who love you very, very much.  I am glad for you.  And of course, there is nothing stopping you from telling them how mch you appreciate them.

But somewhere there is someone who is reading this devotion and is feeling incredibly down.  Maybe you go through life broken, because your parents aren’t good parents.  What then?

Then, I think, the first thing to do is to admit to yourself that you need love.  And that you may search for love.  But (and this is written in red!)  don’t look for love in the wrong places.  First of all go the God for love.  Only wen you realise that God is not like your parents, but exactly the opposite, you can be healed.  Yes, for your deepest heart’s desires – acceptance, appreciation, love – come from God.  He will give them to you.
